If you’ve been grinding in the Third Sea for a while, you’ve probably seen players walking around with glowing auras, massive wings, or water swirling around them. That’s Race V4, the ultimate awakening that completely changes how you play Blox Fruits. It’s not just a cosmetic upgrade; the stat boosts and passive abilities, like the Human race’s damage counter or the Angel’s flight mechanics, are absolute game-changers for PVP and boss raids.
However, getting there is arguably the longest and most complex questline in the entire game. But don’t worry, I’ve broken down the entire process into clear, manageable steps so you don’t have to waste time guessing what to do next.
Here is your complete guide to awakening Race V4 in 2026.
Prerequisites: What You Need Before Starting
Before you even think about the Temple of Time, there is a checklist you need to complete. If you skip any of these, the NPCs won’t interact with you, and you’ll hit a wall.
- Race V3 Unlocked: You must already have your current race at Version 3. This involves the flower quest (for V2) and the Arowe quest (for V3).
- Defeat Rip_indra: You need to have defeated the Raid Boss Rip_indra at the Castle on the Sea at least once. You don’t need to do it solo, but you must deal enough damage to get the credit.
- God’s Chalice: This is needed to spawn Rip_indra. You can get it from Elite Pirates, chests (low chance), or praying at the Haunted Castle.
- Mirror Fractal: This is the most crucial item. To get it, you must defeat the Dough King (not the Cake Prince).
Step 1: Talking to the Sealed King
Once you have the Mirror Fractal in your inventory and have defeated Rip_indra, head to the Castle on the Sea.
Look for a stone tablet located outside the castle structure, near the area where the Elite Pirates usually spawn. This is the “Sealed King” stone.
Interact with it. If you’ve met the requirements, the tablet will speak to you. It will mention something about needing to “resonate with the moon.” This is your green light to proceed to the hardest part of the quest.
Step 2: The Mirage Island & The Blue Gear
This is the step that tests your patience. You need to find Mirage Island, which is a sea event that spawns randomly in the Third Sea.
Finding Mirage Island
Get a fast boat (or a fruit like Portal/Light) and head out into the sea. I recommend staying in Danger Levels 4 to 5. You don’t need to be in the chaotic Level 6 zone, but you need to be far enough out.
Keep sailing until the island spawns. It usually looks like a mysterious island covered in a thick fog.
Resonating with the Moon
Here is the catch: you can only do this step at Night. If Mirage Island spawns during the day, you have to wait on the island until the sun sets.
- Go to the highest point of the island (usually the tallest tree or mountain peak).
- Equip your Mirror Fractal implies having it in your inventory, but what you actually do is activate your Race V3 ability.
- Stare directly at the Moon. Use first-person mode and look up.
- Hold the gaze for about 10–15 seconds. If done correctly, the Moon will start glowing brightly, and a message will appear saying, “Your Mirror Fractal has resonated with the moon.”
Hunting the Blue Gear
Once the moon glows, a Blue Gear has spawned somewhere on the island. You have to find it before the island despawns or the night ends. The gear glows blue, so it stands out against the dark ground, but the fog makes it tricky.
Check likely spots like under trees, near rocks on the shoreline, or inside the small tunnels. Once you find it, simply walk over it to pick it up.
Step 3: The Temple of Time
With the Blue Gear secured, head to the Great Tree.
Go to the very top of the tree. There is an invisible NPC named “Mysterious Force.” Interact with him, and you will be teleported to the Temple of Time.
Inside, walk straight until you find a lever. Now that you have the Blue Gear, you can pull this lever to open the trial rooms.
Step 4: Completing the Trials
This is where teamwork comes into play. You cannot do this solo.
You need three players total (including yourself), and each player must have a different race. For example, a Human, a Shark, and a Mink. You cannot have two Sharks in the same trial.
The Process
- Wait for a Full Moon: The trials can only start when the in-game moon is full.
- Stand at the Doors: Each player must stand in front of the door corresponding to their race in the main hall of the Temple.
- Activate Simultaneously: When the Full Moon starts, everyone must activate their V3 race ability at the exact same time (countdown “3, 2, 1, Go!”).
- The Trial: If successful, the doors open, and you enter your specific trial.
- Human: Defeat a boss with the exact same stats as you.
- Shark: Defeat a Sea Beast.
- Mink: Complete a maze obstacle course.
- Sky: Traverse a parkour course with jumping platforms.
- Cyborg: Dodge missiles.
- Ghoul: Defeat waves of zombies.
The Final Battle
Once all three players complete their individual trials, the “Winner” is decided by battle. You will be teleported back to the main room, and you must fight the other two players.
The last player standing gets access to the Ancient Clock.
Note: If you are doing this with friends, you can agree beforehand who gets to win so you can take turns unlocking V4.
Step 5: Ascending the Ancient Clock
When you win the fight, a glowing orb will guide you up the stairs to the Ancient Clock. Interact with it to insert your first gear.
Congratulations! You have officially unlocked Race V4.
At this stage, you unlock the transformation mechanic. You will notice a new “Awakening” meter at the bottom of your screen during combat. When it fills up, you can transform, gaining your race’s ultimate passive abilities.
Upgrading Your Gears
Unlocking V4 is just the beginning. To max out your race and get all the abilities (like the larger domain expansions or faster flight), you need to repeat the trials multiple times.
After your first awakening, you will need to train your mastery by using the transformation for a certain amount of minutes, then return to the Ancient Clock to buy upgrades using Fragments.
It is a long journey, but the power spike you get is absolutely worth the effort. Good luck finding that Mirage Island, you’re going to need it!
